Fairfield County 13-Year-Old Arrested For Gun Photo

A 13-year-old Trumbull student was arrested for posting comments and a photo of himself on social media holding a handgun, according to Trumbull Police.

The posting and arrest took place on Saturday while he was in a group text with other students, police said.

Trumbull Police were notified after a parent of one of the other students in the group found the post on their child’s cell phone, police added.

The gun in the photo was found to be a replica BB gun. The teen purposely cropped out the guns red tip designating it as such when he took the photo, police said.

It was later determined that this was an isolated incident and that there was no apparent threat to the general public.

The teen was charged with disorderly conduct and is scheduled to appear in court on March 3.
